Vespa Rear Hub Bearing Castle Nut Removal Tool
I have wrecked a few rear hub bearing castle nuts in my time. This tool looks like it should ease the pain. It would be nice if the free end could accept an air impact wrench. http://www.scootersoriginali.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=1_66&products_id=5189

Re: Vespa Rear Hub Bearing Castle Nut Removal Tool
they list it to work on wide mounts which is incorrect. Widemounts use a similar retainer but have 4 round holes to insert a tool

I made one out of a 33mm impact socket from Harbor Freight. Cost me $5 and less than an hour's time.

Re: Vespa Rear Hub Bearing Castle Nut Removal Tool
just don't use an impact wrench on it.
Heat sure, and not too tight when going back together.

Re: Vespa Rear Hub Bearing Castle Nut Removal Tool
When removing, I always put the gun on the lowest setting with a half pull on the trigger, and it's always the torque wrench for the installation.

Re: Vespa Rear Hub Bearing Castle Nut Removal Tool
I can't recall offhand, but I want to say that it's somewhere between 45-65 ft-lbs. Not a whole lot, really.
