Post Turn signal indicator always on...
Hey guys, I have a 78 P200E (VSX1T USA before 1979 schematic ) and here are the weird symptoms:

Indicator light is always on if I use turn signal it does blink from on to off and on, but the light looks more intense, after some riding and revving the bulb dies.

The horn sounds like crap, like a small bark and nothing more even if you leave the button on.

The speedo light also died ( not sure if its related )

The front and back light are Ok and are not always they are Ok.

This happened ones long time ago and I think that beside changing the bulbs the flasher was too.

I haven't changed bulbs flasher this time around I used the neutral one to test the indicator issue, wiring looks good no shorts or issues on the headset junction boxes on the motor or on the horn side, or the flasher/regulator.

Even if I disconnect the P connector on the flasher ( or all 3 connector on the flasher ) the horn still sounds like crap.

Could the Regulator be killing the flasher and the bulbs after wards?, I didn't check the voltage that the indicator bulb has when its the most intense.

Any suggestions??

I had pretty much all these symptoms (1980 P200)
Charge or replace the battery.
Worked for me.

battery is low / can't hold a charge above the min needed for the blinker relay

check
- battery health
- battery liquid = if the metal plates within the battery have been exposed to air = it will never hold a greater charge than it is now = get new battery

you can put a battery tender onto the battery wires and test the scoots electrical system with engine off
if all works great = battery is the issue

when my battery would die the 1st thing to go was the horn, then the blinkers and then the rear light

Guys,

Here is the update!

I did replace the battery and damaged bulbs ( also the back light was dead ) , the horn worked fine now but the indicator light still was always on, I replaced the flasher and it works fine now.

Thanks
